Einstein and the Bomb

Shining a light on the man behind the theory.

The film captures some of the momentous and challenging times in Einstein’s life including his regrets of endorsing nuclear weapons in the face of a rising Nazi Germany. Focusing on Einstein's time spent in Norfolk during his exile from Germany, the film explores the creation of his theory of relativity and how his work was utilised in the production of the atomic bomb. 

We crafted a variety of 3D environments for the project, including a full photorealistic recreation of Berlin’s Philharmonic Hall, and a sequence featuring a young Einstein chasing a photon at the speed of light. 

Location VFX was supervised at Shepperton Studios. The shoot was a combination of wire work, set extension, green screen sets and crowd capture.
