Emergence

An ambitious opening sequence for Brian Cox’s 2026 world tour.

Having crafted VFX for the 2022 sell-out ‘Horizons’ tour, we reunited with the professor and director Nic Stacey for an ambitious introduction to Emergence, an immersive spectacle that invites audiences to explore the laws of nature and the complexity of the universe.

We developed ten key shots for this sequence, including celestial bodies, satellites and reconstructions, creating a visual language that sets the tone for the continuing story.

Carefully optimised for large-format LED displays, our shots encompass recreations of deep space and celestial bodies, as well as satellite imagery, before focusing in on a snowy Charles Bridge in Prague, a central motif of this opening sequence that draws on Johannes Kepler’s observation of snowflake symmetry while crossing it in 1610.

“Lux delivered exceptional work, creating hyper detailed and original shots that really fire the imagination when seen on the big screen.”

Nic Stacey, Director

To enhance the visual storytelling, we crafted particle FX to give the bridge’s statues an ethereal and contemplative quality. The bridge also provides an anchor, creating the illusion that Brian is standing on it at the start of the show. The resulting shots provide both a photoreal and scientifically accurate depiction of both physical environments and orbital systems, with compositions adaptable to the varying LED set-ups of tour venues.
