We created digital human avatars, matte paintings and set extensions across the series, 3D scanning services were provided by Sample & Hold for four of the avatars representing different species of human.

Using data provided by scientists and archaeologists, we ensured that all digital avatars were anatomically and physiologically correct, with an extensive model refinement process transforming the raw scans into accurate digital models.

We also built animated maps and timelines demonstrating the migration patterns of early humans, an essential device to trace the development of homo sapiens.

Our comp team handled a large number of CG and digital matte painted set extensions in Nuke, including augmented atmospheric effects. Digital doubles and green screen footage were integrated into principal photography to create scale and dramatic reconstructions supporting the cinematic vision.
