Mammals

From the Blue Whale to the Etruscan Shrew, Sir David Attenborough explores the world of the mammals.

We completed title sequences, graphics and VFX work for this six-part series. Visual effects crafted in Houdini and Nuke were used to create the pre-titles cosmic collision. This photo realistic recreation of the asteroid strike demonstrates what is thought to have been the cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs, and catalyst for the rise of mammals.

Audiences are further brought into the story through the use of content graphics that visualise elments that can’t always be captured on camera; from a bat’s echolocation to satellite views showing the diversion of water for harvesting, and the impact this has on mammals.

We also crafted an ice age simulation in Houdini to further illustrate the remarkable changes that the earth has gone through since the rise of mammals.
