Who Do You Think You Are
A refresh of the iconic branding for this popular and long-running family history series.
Now in its 23rd series, Who Do You Think You Are follows celebrities as they trace the fascinating stories of their ancestors, often leading to unexpected discoveries.
We were tasked with giving the show’s integral visuals an update, bringing them in line with a contemporary viewership and modern high-definition screens. The intention was not to overhaul an established, instantly recognisable brand, but to give the iconic family tree and content graphics a refresh to retain the feel of a premium televisual brand.
We recreated from scratch the original tree on the hill image in SpeedTree and Houdini to give us a clean and controllable asset that could be comped into an updated sky-scape and familiar 'Who Do You Think You Are? title design.
The trees and maps in the body of the episode were similarly overhauled, with new environment HDRIs, streamlined layout and typographic approach. The same approach was taken to the map graphics to maintain consistency and quality of the brand.
