A Very Special Delivery

A magical short featuring the King and a cast of animals, created to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday.

As part of Sir David’s birthday celebration, broadcast live from the Royal Albert Hall, A Very Special Delivery traces the journey of the King’s handwritten birthday card, starting in Balmoral and weaving its way across the country to its recipient’s letterbox.

This high concept and ambitious project saw director Rob Hifle direct His Royal Highness at Balmoral, with filming by BAFTA award-winning cinematographer Tim Cragg.

We then led on post-production, with our team ensuring the animal ‘relay’ was seamless, compositing letters into beaks, claws and spines, as well as pairing creatures in shots that would usually never meet and placing them in perilous situations (such as the edge of a cliff.)

This unique project demonstrates our trusted and collaborative relationship with the BBC, as well as our ability to drive emotional storytelling that truly captivates and enchants audiences.
